Matt Yde found a way to help inflammation in his knee when he discovered CBD oil, but his first time buying it he had to drive out to a Luverne, Minnesota, smoke shop.
The shop clerk couldn’t answer any of his questions about the product and the environment itself was “weird,” Yde said.
Yde is planning to open Your CBD Store in a storefront at 1612 W. 41st St. on Friday, bringing a national chain of CBD shops to South Dakota for the first time. He and his business partners also opened a franchise in Fargo, North Dakota, earlier this year.
“As I researched, I asked, you know, why don’t they have just stores that do this,” Yde said.

Yde had planned to open the Sioux Falls location first, but was forced to wait after Gov. Kristi Noem ended hemp legalization efforts last year. When Noem changed her stance and signed a similar bill into law this spring, Yde and his business partners were able to move forward with the Sioux Falls location.
Your CBD Store is a Florida-based chain with hundreds of locations across the United States. The Sioux Falls shop will offer a variety of different CBD products, including the standard tinctures as well as water soluble products, edible products and topical creams.
Yde plans to start with one store and eventually add an eastern Sioux Falls location. Demand from local consumers is already there, he said.
“Even in South Dakota people are using CBD, just nobody really talks about it as much,” Yde said.
