Moree council secure grant to install a new roundabout near CBD

Moree Plains Shire Council has been successful in securing grant funding from the Roads and Maritime Services to install a roundabout at the intersection of Heber and Auburn Streets.

This upgrade will create a safer intersection for vehicles and pedestrians alike.

It will also assist in traffic calming through the Central Business Directory of Moree.

Council took to their Facebook page to let followers know when construction would begin for the brand new roundabout.

The first stage of works will involve the relocation of the kerb and gutter to the south-west of the intersection (near Suncorp Bank).

Council have scheduled work to be carried outover the weekend of October 27 and 28 with weather permitting.

During this time the southern leg of Auburn Street will be closed.

The second and third stages of the install will occur in late November and February/March 2019.
