DENVER– Fourpoints Slow-Burn Energy Bars are going vegan! The creators of the first ever prune based energy bar are swapping out whey protein in favor of Hemp protein, expanding into the ever growing plant based protein movement.
Last month, in an effort to stand out in a crowded bar category dominated by dates and syrups, the Colorado bar company teamed up with The California Prune Industry to highlight their star ingredient. Fourpoints is doing it again by going all in on another better-for-you ingredient – Hemp.
“Over the last few years we’ve received a lot of requests for us to do a version of our bars with a vegan protein source,” said Co-Founder Kevin Webber. “Hemp seed is nature’s complete superfood, and that’s why it’s always been in our bars; it’s loaded with healthy omega fatty acids, high in fiber, and one of the few plant based proteins that offers the full-spectrum of amino acids.”
Sourced from local Colorado hemp farms, hemp protein powder is made by grinding pressed hemp seeds into a fine powder. “It has an earthy, nutty taste that really enhances the flavor and texture of our bars,” Webber added.
Along with the re-formulation, Fourpoints also refreshed its packaging, extending the shelf-life and proudly displaying its pro-conservation mission, adding the logos of its non-profit partners, under its Wherever You Play initiative.
