Water issues, hemp and labor issues will be the center of discussion at the combined Citrus Expo and Vegetable & Specialty Crop Expo Aug. 14-15 in North Fort Myers, Fla.
The expo schedule is to include hemp rule updates, a water panel discussing quantity and quality issues throughout South Florida and a discussion about how farmers can access legal foreign farm labor under H-2A, according to a news release.
“Considering the timing just before the fall and winter crop cycles begin, and growing concerns among farmers about water quantity and quality issues as the state’s population continues to explode, we’re doing all we can to reach the region’s farm sector,” Gary Cooper, AgNet Media founder and president, said in the release.
In addition to the sessions, attendees can attend seminar programs. See the full schedule here.
